Au pair International Program Agreement
The AU PAIR agreement is regulated by an International agreement in which a person working abroad is hosted by a family. The European Council has drawn up a “European agreement” relating to Au pairs in order to regulate the role of a person as Au pair with basic working and living conditions , and the rights and duties of the hosting family and the way of facilitating a good cultural exchange with the hosting country. (The reguations governing Au-pair come under the Agreement of the European Community . Spain was incorporated in the Agreement on June the 24th in 1988 (BOE nº 214 de 6 de sept de 1988) In 1989 a resolution was approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BOE nº 152 de 27/6/89).
